I was delighted when Evans Woolfe Media asked me to supply the animated content for three x 4 minute films for The Open University covering some very interesting subjects. The script and voice over were supplied by Evans Woolfe Media, and the films can be found on The Open University website.

Below is a brief summary of each of the three films. -By kind permission from The Open University and Evans Woolfe Media.

Power

Power introduces a myriad of forms of power within society. Referencing Antonio Gramsci and Hegemony, Michel Foucault and Bio-Power, Feminism, Critical Race theory and Marxist theory  we explore how control is used to influence the population in different  and subtle ways.

Discourse

Following on from Power, we delve deeper into Discourse, and the work of Michel Foucault, and explore the various ways the state, media and politicians can shape our perceptions of reality.

The State

We also define The State in it's own film, and discuss it's history, it's role in society and how it's operations can be used for control both in positive and negative ways.
